Dr. Kaitlyn Brown was born and raised on a farm in the Southeast corner of Saskatchewan. When she was 18 she moved to Regina to start her education. In 2011 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan. It was after this degree that she found her first job in a veterinary clinic in Saskatoon and developed her love for veterinary medicine. In 2013 she began a degree in Toxicology at the University of Saskatchewan and contemplated a career in Wildlife Toxicology, but her desire to become a Veterinarian led her to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, completing her veterinary education in the spring of 2019. She has now joined our team at the Foothills Animal Hospital as a full-time Veterinarian.

Although Dr. Kaitlyn grew up on a farm surrounded by animals of all sizes, her love for cats and dogs dominated over the other creatures on her farm, with cats having the most special place in her heart. She has two feline friends at home, a female cat named Lanie, and a male cat named Quincy. Dr. Kaitlyn focuses strongly on fear free handling and low stress veterinary appointments in hopes that animals and their families alike can have a positive experience in her exam room. This becomes especially important for her feline patients, who tend to be particularly worried when out of their comfort zone. Outside of work, Dr. Kaitlyn and her Fiance are active in Crossfit, hiking in the mountains and golfing. Dr. Kaitlyn is looking forward to meeting the clients of the clinic and their furry companions.
