  • Dr.
    Miranda Logan

    Dr. Logan graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College with a B.Sc. in Animal Science in 1996 and earned her DVM in 2000 from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She has been practicing in Okotoks since May 2000 and opened the Foothills Animal Hospital as the Owner/Veterinarian in May 2004.

    She grew up in Otterbrook, Nova-Scotia surrounded by animals. Her mother, Heather A. Logan, ran   Cloverfield Kennels for 35+ years. This was a boarding kennel for 50 dogs and a breeding kennel of Labrador Retrievers. Dr. Logan has been training dogs since 1980 for competition obedience and conformation. Since 1992, she has been using operant conditioning – behaviour analysis (a.k.a. clicker training) on dogs as well as a number of other species (llamas, miniature donkeys, horses, goats, tigers, giraffes, grizzly bears and chickens).

    Her dogs Cardinal (yellow Labrador retriever) and Fitz (Whippet) come to work with her every day.  Their jobs include: demonstrating clicker training, working with dogs with mental health disorders, testing new toys and cuddling with anyone who needs a hug.

    Cecilia Kung

    Dr. Cecilia Kung earned her DVM in 2011 from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, Scotland, one of the oldest veterinary schools in the world.  Before veterinary school, she graduated from the University of Calgary with degrees in Biological Sciences and Anthropology (Primatology).  She spent her first year as a veterinarian in mixed practice before focusing on small animal medicine for the next nine years, including one year at a veterinary physical rehabilitation clinic.  Dr. Cecilia enjoys numerous areas of veterinary medicine and is excited to join the team at Foothills Animal Hospital. She was drawn to the highly skilled team and excellent quality of veterinary care for their clients. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cecilia enjoys spending time with her husband and is a self-described ukulele-playing-foodie!

  • PJ Thomson
    RVT, Practice Manager

    PJ grew up on a Ranch in British Columbia and graduated with honors from the Olds College Animal Health Technology program in 2004. She worked in Calgary before joining the Foothills Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2007. In addition to her role as RVT, PJ is also the Practice Manager at the Hospital. PJ volunteers locally as an assistant 4H leader for the Millarville Stockland 4H Beef Club. Her fur kids include 2 DSH’s named Annie and Brandon, and a rescue dog named Riley.

    Front Desk

    Megan was born in High River and raised on a large ranch just outside of Cochrane. After moving back to High River in 2011 she volunteered at the Highview Vet Clinic where it was confirmed, working with and around animals is what she loves to do. After graduating from high school she attended the University of Lethbridge taking Agricultural Biotechnology majoring in Agribusiness. She joined the Foothills Team at the front desk in January 2015. She enjoys spending time with her puppies; Piper and Coors, her fish Peter Parker, as well as the many cattle and horses her family owns.

    Front Desk

    Sara grew up in Guelph, Ontario and moved to Langdon, Alberta with her parents in 2017. She has recently moved to Okotoks with her fiancé and graduated from the Veterinary Technician Assistant program at Olds College. She loves animals of all shapes and sizes but has a soft spot for birds and is absolutely obsessed with them! Sara currently has 2 dogs, Nikki who is a 9 year old Shih-tzu Poodle and Lily who is a 3 year old Golden Doodle.  She joined the Foothills Team in July 2021 after working at a doggy daycare and falling in love with the dogs in our community. Sara loves spending her free time with her families and enjoys boating in the summer and skiing in the winter. She can't wait to buy a house within the next couple years and adopt as many birds and dogs as she can!

  • Brooklyn W
    Front Desk

    Brooklyn grew up in the outskirts of Okotoks. She has always had a passion for animals big and small. She enjoys competing in Barrel Racing with her mother, and attends clinics with her horse. Brooklyn is currently working on her first semester of a Veterinary Technician online course. She is excited to see where the opportunity to work at Foothills Animals Hospital will take her and grateful for the knowledge she will gain from it.

    Kathleen grew up in Ontario where she studied Biology and Animal Behaviour and Welfare at university. She then worked as an animal care intern at a wildlife rehabilitation centre before moving to Alberta in 2016.She joined the Foothills team in July 2018 as a Tech Assistant.In her spare time Kathleen can be found highland dancing and spending time with her cat Maxwell.

  • Taylor R

    Taylor grew up in Airdrie but after graduating high school moved toTurner Valley, AB. She now resides in south Calgary and is loving it! Taylor has always had a huge love for animals, because of this she took the veterinary technical assisting program at Olds College.  A few short weeks after finishing her program she joined the Foothills AnimalHospital team. In her free time she loves rock climbing, camping,hiking, kayaking and training her puppy Gus!

  • MaCall K

    MaCall grew up in High River, Alberta. After moving all over the map after high school she finally moved to Red Deer, AB and took the Animal Health Technology program at Old’s College where she graduated with honors in February 2020. MaCall joined our Foothills team as a brand newtech just a few months after graduating from Olds and moving back to Okotoks. She enjoys golfing, fostering animals, and being a crazy cat lady at home with her two munchkin kitty’s Penny and Oliver. She also has a sweet little mini Aussie, Walter!

  • Rachel W

    Rachel grew up in Manitoba and moved to Alberta after high school. She graduated with honors from the Animal Health Technology program at NAIT in spring of 2018. Rachel has always had a passion for animals, especially cats and dogs. When not working Rachel enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with her two papillons Koopa and Magic. She also enjoys competing and training Koopa and Magic in Agility.
